Heartsaver First Aid & CPR AED – Blended Learning Option Part 1 and 2

$85.00

We offer the HeartsaverHeartsaver First Aid & CPR AED that includes the fundamental concepts of providing high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using an automated external defibrillator (AED), and rendering basic first aid as needed for selected medical emergencies (breathing, choking, allergic reactions, stroke, seizure, etc.), injuries (wounds, burns, broken bones, etc.), and environmental emergencies (animal / insect bites, heat / cold, poison, etc.).  The course is designed for participants who are not healthcare providers and who would like to gain the basic skills needed that might save a life or prevent further injury.

This course combines true Home Study and hands-on CPR and First Aid certification training. This course is perfect for the individuals or group with limited extra time to attend a regular 4-hour class.  The course teaches the basic techniques of adult, child, and infant CPR and First Aid with the use of an AED.

You will be given access to the electronic copy of the textbook online.
You do not need to purchase a separate textbook.

This course is open to all participants and does not require any prior medical knowledge or healthcare background.  Our course covers treatment of children and infants as well, making this the ideal course for virtually anyone who may deal with others in an emergency situation at home, work, or while traveling.  The course also meets or exceeds the requirements of many insurance companies that require basic training in CPR / First Aid in the workplace.

Note that this course, while comprehensive in nature, is not necessarily appropriate for everyone, as it is primarily intended for a non-healthcare audience (we recommend you check with your school or employer to make sure they will accept this course for proof of CPR training).

After successfully completing the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course, students should be able to:

  • list the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of the first aid rescuer
  • describe the key steps in first aid
  • describe the assessment of and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke
  • use an epinephrine pen
  • control bleeding
  • recognize elements of common injuries and illnesses
  • recognize the legal questions that apply to first aid rescuers.
